The blog owner will be inclined to delete your comment and you have wasted your time.

A good way to bring traffic to your site is to sign up for a handful of accounts on popular forum sites, that are related to your site. You can then help other people out with any questions they might have. However, there is a spot called a signature where you can leave a link to your website. Every time you post on the forum you are putting your site out to a lot of different people.
