A successful campaign is built around having alot of different strategies to get your message out there. Below I will show you how I use podcasting to enhance my online presence and increase traffic flow to my website. With so much information at everyone’s finger tips in this day and age, a mobile format in which we can relay our business message is a fantastic way to promote our product. Podcasting provides this, by being a truly transportable medium, and by having the flexibility to listen anywhere, anytime. Whether it be, whilst driving in the car, walking the dog or relaxing down the beach.

Podcasting is audio that is sent via RSS feeds which translates into Really Simple Syndication. It provides us with an audio delivery system that we can distribute to our client base on a regular basis or it can drive people to your website. Once distributed, your podcasts can be listened to at their own convenience and you can archive your podcasts to give more choice to the potential customer and the chance to hear previous ones.

A great free podcasting site is audacity where you can record your content then deliver it. A weekly podcast is a great way to start. If you have a client list then you can distribute your podcast weekly to them, keeping them updated on all the new information relating to your business. Think of podcasts as your audio blog and record all your info onto it. It is definitely a great aid to your visual blog.

To begin podcasting you can record audio files and save it in mp3 format. You can then upload it to your website and submit the relevant links to blogs and directories. After that create an RSS feed for your podcast. I have found it best to create a few different audio files then put them together at the end to come up with a finished product. Create one audio file for your intro, one for FAQS, one for the main body of your podcast and then one for your summary. You then have the flexibility to mix and match different files whenever you want to.

Sites such as iTunes allow you to subscribe and then automatically download podcasts when new ones are formed. Broadcasting yourself is a great way to brand yourself and get your message out there. When using podcasting as part of your overall marketing strategy I am sure you will see the benefits by the increase in traffic to your website.

Wishing you Success
