Article submission should be part of any business owners marketing strategy because it increases leads and sales into your business.
This example will blow your mind – how creating 25 articles and social network marketing can generate an additional $30K to your business income.
Let’s say you write 5 articles in your first month to get things going.
Show your visitors what you are offering (e.g. a report to download or your landing page) by putting a link within the resource box in the article submission directory or submission software.
And let’s assume you have a set of keywords you know are highly targeted for buyers not browsers – people seriously interested in what you have to offer – although keyword research is a huge topic in itself!
You are really looking for keywords within your niche that have fairly low competition and currently do not already bring up web 2.0 properties like articles in the first 1-2 pages of search engine listings. These can be used as a basis for creating unique and valuable content that will get noticed.
You use a few core submission and web linking strategies you can use to get your articles out into circulation.
1. Using article submission software you can automate the process of sending your article to many different ezines or article directories.
You can use an automated distribution method, such as article submission software tools to create a unique version for each (article leverage) and automate the form filling submission process.
2. You kick start the viral process by pointing at your articles from your blog posts, forum comments, commenting on other blogs, twittering, facebook posts, pinging, RSS and social bookmarking and all those other lovely social tools.
3. You might also make a video around your article topic when you explain and demonstrate the key principles or messages.
4. Upload a link to your article on your web pages or put up a banner or ad on Facebook.
This should take you about an hour per article at the very most.
OK, so now you’re getting the word out.
Let’s say you generate 15 visitors to each article a week. That’s just over two a day, which is quite conservative if you done the above keyword targeting and social marketing.
It’s true that the number getting to the bottom and clicking on your resource box link to your website, opt in or offer will certainly depend on whether you’ve grabbed their attention with a provocative headline and engaging copy.
You could argue that having only 1 or 2 people a day click on your article is hardly worth the effort, since not all will read the whole thing. But you’d be wrong.
The amateur internet marketer might conclude it’s not a good return on investment. The clever network marketer have a longer term vision. They know that daily visits can really add up and their strategy is around the ‘compound’ effect.
Say you continue writing 1 article a week. At the 6-month mark, with your original 5 articles, that makes 25 articles you have out in circulation.
If we continue the maths based on 2 visitors per article per day … that equates to 350 very targeted prospects a week, nearly 1500 each month, who are highly alert to what you are offering, because they have read your article and see you as an authority through your content and social media if you have done this too.
If ultimately, you convert 5% of those visitors … that’s 50 leads or sales for your business. How much did that cost? Nothing – except an hour or so per article and time networking and twittering your link.
Now, let’s say you’ve done your calculations and the lifetime value to your business of a lead into your system, a customer or new team member is just $50 – you just added $2500 income … every single month.
Let’s put it another way. With 25 articles on the go, your article marketing activity just brought in $30,000.
Bear in mind these figures are fairly conservative as your pipeline grows and you establish your own unique personal brand and online credibility, you should achieve more and more traffic and higher conversions.
Furthermore, the back links to your website or blog domain from your article submissions will help boost your organic listing with Google, Yahoo etc, so you rank higher and get more traffic from the main search engines too.
So is article marketing worth the effort? You bet it is – The bottom line is the value you add to your market as well as the extra profits you generate!
